The New Normal

Getting acclimated to my new look life.

I have officially entered a new phase of my life, one where I am doing my level headed best to thrive in organized chaos.

As much as I relished returning back to the current profession that pays the bills, it can be a big source of stress for me. I’ve learned to manage it successfully but now it coupled with my new look life has me feel a lot less free as a seagull but more like a caged pigeon.

Thank God for days off, sleep, the love of a supportive significant other and friends, oh and wine. Those things keep my crazy in check.

My goal these days is to set up and execute a solid plan that allows me to get out of my cage and back over flying free over the closest large body of water.

You didn’t come this far to only come this far!

Self Care

Go get your glow on.

One of the first things I did before returned back to work was re-establish my monthly self care routine. The highlight being getting a long overdue facial. Although stress can affect the body, it can and will definitely show on the face.

On the day before I my triumphant return to work I scheduled my month facial with my local Glowbar location.

Let me tell you about Glowbar. Its a lot of luxury for a low cost. They have a subscription plan that’s $60.00 a month which entitles you to one facial during that month. This encourages you to use it on a consistant basis because you know what grandmom used to say,”if you don’t use it, you lose it.”

I don’t know about you but, i’m not in to just giving away my hard earned money for free. Your facial will be 35-45 minutes long depending on what your skin needs.

If you don’t want the commitment of a month subscription the price increases to just $80.00 per service. That’s still a bargin for a much needed moment of self care.

What?

When will people learn not to judge those who date outside of their race?

Unless you haven’t been any where near social media then you have heard about Shannon Sharpe and his foolishness.

Black women are saying we’re staying out of it because of his preference of dating white women. Me I don’t care if he dates them, i’m skivved out about the fact that he is a man damn near 60 years old being intimate with a 19 year old girl.

Is she an adult in the eyes of the law, yes. Can she consent, yes but to get choked and allegedly SA’d yikes!

The reason why I don’t care if he relations or relationships with white women is because I found my good thing in a white man. My babe is the best. I am loved, protected and cared for in the way that all of us deserve to be.

Even in my recent struggles he has been there every step of the way. We are locked in and have been that way for the last four and a half years.

So if dating outside of your race isn’t for you, then it just isn’t but for those willing to give it a go, date the world by all means.
